Menggunakan algoritma link-state, OSPF memungkinkan setiap router dalam jaringan untuk membangun dan memelihara basis data topologi jaringan, sehingga dapat menghitung rute terpendek ke setiap tujuan menggunakan algoritma Dijkstra. Keunggulan OSPF terletak pada kemampuannya untuk membagi jaringan menjadi area, yang membantu mengurangi overhead dan meningkatkan efisiensi, serta mendukung hierarki jaringan yang ideal untuk jaringan besar dan kompleks.<\/p>\n<p>OSPF memiliki nilai Administrative Distance (AD) sebesar 110, menunjukkan keandalannya dibandingkan dengan protokol routing lainnya. Protokol ini menggunakan cost sebagai metrik untuk menentukan jalur terbaik, di mana cost dihitung berdasarkan bandwidth antarrute. Ini berguna untuk mengurangi lalu lintas OSPF yang tidak perlu pada interface tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, kedua router memiliki interface loopback yang dikonfigurasi dengan tipe jaringan OSPF sebagai point-to-point dan prioritas OSPF ditetapkan pada 255. Ini memberikan kesempatan tertinggi bagi kedua router untuk menjadi Designated Router (DR) dalam jaringan OSPF, yang penting untuk efisiensi pengiriman pembaruan routing dalam jaringan yang lebih besar.
